Shorter make-ready time thanks to automated register settings

In order to further optimize printing processes and save costs, print shops for flexible packaging have long been focusing on greater digitalization and process optimization. Industrial image processing (machine vision) is constantly providing new solutions to automate further process steps that were previously carried out manually. There is still potential for further changes, particularly during the make-ready phase.

ViewSTAR, the web viewing system for printing applications from ISRA VISION, offers the possibility of shortening the work step with the innovative "RegisterControl" module. This function ensures the automated setting of the flexographic printing units in the register. The system uses print marks to check the position of the respective color printing unit and adjusts it for optimum register accuracy. Automated adjustment saves labor time as well as material and energy. This leads to higher efficiency and sustainability in production.

With its inspection solutions for print image inspection, ISRA VISION offers its customers the latest technology for digitization and more sustainable production, thanks to savings on production errors caused by printing defects.

The new "RegisterControl" function of the ViewSTAR web monitoring system from ISRA VISION will take over the automated register setting of flexographic printing units on CI flexographic printing presses in the future.
